citizens of RSS shakha in Shreyas Hotel. He explained his recent research work.
(ii) In the
evening delivered a speech at Vartakashram. Subject – new research on Taj
Mahal. Audience of 53.
(iii) 17
December at RSS shakha on Sinhagada Road. Subject – Truth about Taj Mahal.
Audience of 40.

> In
addition, Godbole met the following -
Dr Tulpule
– a Consultant Physician in Pune
Dr Uday Kulkarni
– who has done extensive research on the battle of Panipat of 1761.
Shree Ravindra
Jog – a Civil Engineering contractor.
Shree
Harshe – a consultant who had practised in Solapur and now lives in Khadki
(Aurangabad)
Somani – a
consultant from Solapur. He has invited Godbole to Solapur on his next visit so
that a trip to Bijapur and Golconda can be arranged.
Dr Satish
Valasangakar of Solapur talked to Godbole on phone
During his
visit Godbole also met Mrs Vaidya, a daughter of P N Oak.
Some
impressions –
Mumbai
Airport
As soon as
we landed it was shambles. There should only be one sign for Immigration –
because that is where one would head. Why confuse passengers with signs for
Baggage / Way out etc?
I went for
a queue marked OCI, only to find that other passengers were going through
immigration lot quicker from other queues.
We
experienced the same disorganisation when coming back to England. There was no
clear cut guidance at the departure area for Gate for BA flights.
Traffic on
roads is terrifying. There is no discipline at all. One is frightened to sit in
the front of a car.
* Though
there tolls on roads, the contractor does not maintain roads properly.
Also owners
of vehicles do not carry our regular checks on road worthiness of the vehicles.
Both drawbacks lead to horrific accidents.
* On major
roads toilet facilities are almost non-existent. This presents problems
especially for women. At least there should be toilets at petrol pumps. People
have money but no sense of public responsibility.
* While
travelling back to Khadki (Aurangabad) we stopped at a Family Restaurant.
The owners said – we have no toilets whatsoever.
Visit to
Shevagav
This is the
place of Samadhi of Gajaanan Mahaaraaj. It was a great surprise to see the
place so clean and queues so orderly. It was pleasant experience indeed.
Income and
expenses are clearly marked on a board. The trustees do spend considerable part
of their income for the disabled and the poor; on dispensaries / hospitals/
schools for disadvantaged and other social work. One is happy to donate money
voluntarily.
Living
accommodation was quite good. Quality of food was good. The attendants went
around with placards asking visitors not to waste food. If the standard dish
contained too much food for you dishes were provided dishes to remove unwanted
food.
Toilets
were provided at reception and in dining area
* Cars are
easily affordable for middle classes. But where are the roads to drive on? And
there is no parking place in town. So, what is the use of your car?
* Attended
two marriage functions. One wonders why the waiters in the dining rooms wear
such dark clothes. It spoils the atmosphere of your dinner.
1.2
Explaining Hindu Dharma
We have
difficulties in explaining Hindu Dharma to our children and fellow Europeans.
Dileep Thatte of America has been doing a wonderful job with his PowerPoint
presentations entitled Seven Stars of Hinduism.
Thatte will
be visiting England in March / April 2012. Godbole, through his contacts has
arranged Thatte’s slide shows at Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham.
1.3 Taj
Mahal - CD
Godbole
continues to modify the PowerPoint presentations on Taj Mahal.
Painters Thomas
and William Daniells were invited by East India Company to paint various
aspects of life in India. They visited Taj Mahal in 1789. In 1801 they
published Two views of Taj Mahal and a Plan of the whole complex. It is
quite big and has to be covered by two slides. The important details are –
* The plan
is drawn to Guz scale. One Guz = 2ft 9 inches.
* River
Jumna is shown as 500 Guz wide (1375 ft)
* Jawab –
there is no such building. It is described as – A building corresponding to
general form with the Mosque.
The name
Jawab is obviously a later day invention.
* The tombs
in the S/E and S/W are described as those of Akabarabadee and Fatehpuree
respectively. Today the same are being shown as those of Sarhani Begum and
Satiunnisa Khanum. But the tombs bear no names.
* Taj Gunj
Market – This is an area of 1000 x 1000 ft enclosed on all sides by brick wall.
There are gates in the East, West, North (Shree Darwaza) and South.
There are
markets in North-East, North-West, South East and South West corners.
N/E – Market place for scented oils.
N/W – Omar Khan’s Market Place
S/E -- Jugee Doss’s Market place
S/W -- Market place for
silks.
* On either
side of Principal Gate are – Apartments for female attendants to Ladies of
Rank. And surrounding these are Pawn Bazars
1.4 Terrorist camps operating in Pakistan-held Kashmir:
Indian Army
Even after centuries of Muslim/ European aggression we are so naïve that one wonders if we have any brains at all.
On Monday 9 May 2011 we received the following E Mail.
Srinagar: Guerrilla training camps are still active across the Line of Control (LOC) in the Pakistan-administered part of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said here on Monday. 'Militant training camps are still active across the LOC,' Major General Ravi Thodge, general-officer-commanding of the counter-insurgency Kilo Force in the Valley, told reporters in Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, some 85 km from here. 'The militants can try to sneak into the Valley in small groups this summer, but our troops are vigilant to defeat any such infiltration bid,' he added.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition along with other logistic support equipment were displayed at the press conference. The arms and ammunition were seized by personnel of the 6 Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the dense Haphruda forests in Kupwara, Thodge said. Eight AK-56 rifles, four AK-47 rifles, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), eight UBGL grenades, 694 rounds of AK ammunition, 40 grenades, one radio set with antenna, 20 remote-control improvised explosive device (IED) boxes and 15 electric detonators, among other ammunition and equipment, have been recovered.
'This is a major haul of arms and ammunition recovered in
the recent past and the recovery has thwarted the evil designs of terrorists in
north Kashmir,' Thodge added. What a surprise!
1.5 The
Hindus are unbelievable people. Here are some examples
Our friend Prof Asnani of Pune sends us regular E Mails. We found following information in one of them.
1.5.1. Khalsa Sarkar in Punjab (1799- 1849)
After prolonged efforts by Sikhs, starting with Guru Gobind Singh, then Banda Bahadur, Nawab Kapur Singh, Jassa Singh Ahluwalia, Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, and other Sikh warriors, finally Ranjit Singh was able to consolidate the gains made by earlier sardars. He defeated the expansionist son of Abdali, named Zaman Shah in a battle between Lahore and Amritsar. Now it was time for Ranjit singh to declare himself the Maharaja of Punjab and treats all his subjects Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs equally. On April 12 1801, Ranjit Singh declared himself Maharaja of Punjab on the same auspicious day of Baisakhi when Khalsa was made by Guru Gobind Singh.
The investiture
ceremony was performed by Sahib Singh Bedi, who was the direct descendant of
Guru Nanak. A commemorative coin was issued, Nanakshahi rupee as it was called.
People showered flowers on him and in turn Ranjit Singh showered gold and
silver coins on his subjects. It was a grand gala occasion. Ranjit Singh rode
on the elephant and passed through the streets of Lahore. He won popular
acclaim and earned a lasting place in the hearts of the people. At night
the town was illuminated with oil lamps and there was display of fire works. Many chiefs and sardars offered nazrana and
in return receive khillats. The fort was garrisoned. The city which had
suffered 30 years of Bhangi misrule needed peace and rule of law. The Maharaja ordered that no interference
be made with the personal and public law of Muslims. They were given equal
rights with other subjects. Courts presided over by the Qazis and Muftis were
confirmed. Prominent citizens were designated as chaudhries and mohallas. The sense of security was given to the
people. Trade and Business were established on a sound basis.
(Our
comment – so despite having suffered years of suppression and barbarity at the
hands of Muslims, they were given equal rights. No revenge. That is the
insanity in our brains.)
1.5.2
Hindutvavadis - why are they so thick
headed?
Nathuram
Godse shot and killed Gandhi on 30 January 1948. His statement in the Special
Court held at Delhi Red Fort was banned by Sardar Patel and Nehru. It was
published (to some extent) by his brother Gopal Godse in 1977. Godbole
criticised the title of the book – May it please your honour. It is
meaningless. Afterwards Gopal Godse
changed the title to – Why I killed Mahatma Gandhi in the second edition.
And yet in March 2011 a CD of Nathuram’s testimony was produced by some of his followers.
The title – May it please your honour!!
If you
browse over the front and back covers you would not have the faintest idea that
the CD has anything to do with Gandhi’s assassination. On the front is probably
the west coast of undivided India from Kashmir to Gujarath. But no one would
know that. For a common reader it is just a graphic design.
Why are we Hindus
so thick headed???
1.5.3
Why would Hindutvavadis not improve?
On 19 June
2011 we received following E Mail through media_monitor5
Uma
Bharti’s birthday gift for Rahul Gandhi
Lucknow : Addressing a gathering
of party-men at the state BJP headquarters here, she said: 'I will make it a
point to give Rahul Gandhi a book (on his 41st birthday) which has
an interesting mention of his great grand-father Jawaharlal Nehru inviting the
RSS to join a Republic Day parade. He needs to know his homeland's history,
which he may not get to know as his mother (Sonia) happens to be an Italian.'
* Next day Godbole wrote: Can some one throw light on the incredible statement - Jawaharal Nehru invited RSS to join in the parade on 26 January?
In every speech Nehru had condemned the RSS and Hindu Mahasabha as communal organisations. How on earth Uma Bharati says that the same Nehru invited RSS to join in the parade on 26 January (Republic day). Where is the proof?
On 20 June 2011 Ramana Murthy <ramana1729@gmail.com> wrote: On Independence day, Aug 15, 1947, overwhelmed, the Nehru Government asked RSS to help maintain traffic (in New Delhi). Sangh did a superb job. I could be hazy on the details.
HARAN BR replied - Impressed by the excellent service rendered by RSS during the Indo-China war in 1962, Nehru invited it to participate in the 1963 RD Parade. RSS did participate. Mr. Haran did send a paper cutting. Apparently there were 3,500 RSS workers in the parade. I can send this picture to you if interested.
Finally Godbole said - Dear Shree Raman Murthy / Haran BR and others,
Many thanks for your information. Here are my observations -
I always maintain that Hindutvavadis fail on two fronts - publicity and public relations.
(a) I lived in a Lodging and Boarding House in Mumbai from 1962 to 65. Our Manager was a strong RSS worker. He never mentioned events of 1947 and 1962/63.
(b) My brother-in-law was a RSS worker all his life. He even remembers the days when Babarao Savarkar (elder brother of Veer Savarkar) used to attend Adhikari Shishakan Varga (officer training camp).
He too never mentioned events of 1947 and1962/63. One of my brother-in-law's classmates later became Chief of RSS in Pune and was in London for several years. I met him regularly. He too never mentioned events of 1947 and1962/63.
(c) After the end of Indira Gandhi's Emergency in 1977, Malkani wrote a book –
The RSS Story. I do not recollect events of 1947 and1962/63 mentioned in it. There was some mention of RSS work in the volatile days of partition, but not Nehru's appreciation.
THIS HAS GOT TO CHANGE.
How can I get a copy of Uma Bharati's book? I have contacts
in Hindusthan
(There was
no answer)
1.5.4
Biased mass media
In June 2011 vasant s sardesai wrote –
History of RSS. Formation by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar
Bhargavaji,
You are right. The media, which is supposed to be impartial and guide the society, has become worst than even a prostitute. But the difficulty with our people is that still many believe and keep faith in what is written or comes in newspapers and other media. And in order to counter such propaganda we must have our own media. Take the example of RSS. We know that is s a strong national organization, very secular in outlook and does not believe in castes or religions. But still it is always accused and propagated as communal and fundamentalist Hindu organization. Not only Congress and these Pseudo-seculars but many Hindus and foreigners are carried away by such propaganda and who sincerely believe that it is a communal organization.
H
K Bhargava replied - We all have to work with confidence and determination to
fight this wrong and willful Bias. We have to highlight the cruel and corrupt
deeds done by Secularist Congress Government.
Ashok Chowgule wrote: "But still it is always accused and propagated as
communal and fundamentalist Hindu organization." Does this not show that
there is a huge bias against the RSS?
Godbole responded -
We are fools to believe that media is un-biased. How easily we get carried away by Western media!!In August 2011 Governor of West Punjab was shot dead in Pakistan. British media reported - Governor of Punjab was killed. And immediately the same message was circulated by our friends.
No one dare say that he was Governor of West Punjab!!
I had some arguments with a Sikh friend about events in Punjab of 1958. He wrote, "When Bombay was in flames, our agitation for Punjabi Subha was being conducted peacefully."
I said - Were you in Bombay at that time?
He replied - No
I asked - Were you at least in Hindusthan?
He said - No
I asked - Where were you?
He said - In Germany, studying for my Ph D.
I asked - So how do you know what was happening in Bombay?
He replied - I saw news on the BBC.
He soon realised his blunder and modified his writings.
[HSS (RSS) in Britain has a periodical called Sangha Sandesh. What good does it do? In 1983-84 it did not publish even the news of birth centenary of Veer Savarkar.
In 1996 it refused to publish a reminder of 50th anniversary of Noakhali massacre of Hindus in Bengal in 1946! ] Why blame others?

Man throws black ink at Baba Ramdev
On 14 January 2012 we received startling news -
NEW DELHI : Yoga guru Ramdev was on Saturday the target of attack by a man who threw black ink on his face at a press conference he was addressing on his plans to campaign against black money in the coming assembly by- elections
Seated along with Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy at the Constitution Club in the heart of the capital, Ramdev’s right eye was blackened with ink by the man identified as Kamran Siddiqui, a resident of Delhi who is said to be running an NGO ‘Real Cause’ which is a petitioner in the Batla House encounter case. Ramdev’s supporters at the conference caught him and manhandled him before police took him away.
Jaideep, Ramdev’s close aide, claimed that Siddiqui had gained entry into the hall carrying a walkie talkie apparently posing as a security personnel. He also claimed that a bottle of acid was recovered from Siddiqui. Ramdev, who immediately wound up the press conference, later said he was not deterred by such attacks and would continue his campaign with full force against corruption. (He should have defied the attack and carried on with the conference)
Before the incident, Siddiqui had sought Ramdev’s opinion on the 2008 Batla House encounter in which suspects of the Delhi serial blast were killed. The yoga guru had ignored the question and soon after the attack took place
Our
comments - Are we seeing the same lack of security as was shown in case of Guru
Govind Singh (1708) and Swami Shraddhanand (1926)? Both were murdered by
intruders. How could Siddiqui come so near to Ramdev Baba? This is alarming in
light of brutal Police attack on Ramdev Baba in New Delhi on 17 June 2011. Even
after the culprit was caught red handed we do not know any details of him! His
address, work place, names and addresses of his relations and his paymaster, all
such information should have been extracted from him before handing him over to
the police. Why was this not done? The police will simply let him go.

1.7 Godbole’s
corrections / suggestions
Godbole
gets about 80 E Mails a day from various sources. He responds to some of them.
Here are some examples -
1.7.1 Why
do you use words like Soniaji / Rahulji ? The suffix ji shows respect. These two
do not deserve our respect at all.
1.7.2 Moplas
These are
NOT descendents of Arabs. Racially they are Indians. Veer Savarkar has
explained their origin in his book Six Glorious Epochs of Indian History.
After the
rise of Islam in 7th century, Hindus were alarmed at the horrific
atrocities committed by Arabs forcing Hindus to convert to Islam. But the sea
trade was important. So, the king in Kerala invented a solution – half brothers
from each family should convert to Islam and can continue sea faring and trade.
Other half of brothers should remain Hindus. In course of time those converted
to Islam forgot all their identity and became enemies of Hindus – ultimately
resulting in the Mopla outrages of 1920.
[The
king should have thought of joining forces with other Hindu kings to fight the
Muslim menace. Other solution could be – the sea-farers can be Muslims when on
sea or while trading. But as soon as they landed in India they become Hindus. A
simple ceremony for this could have been devised. Oh no – King ordered half the
brothers from each family to convert to Islam.]
It is
foolish to suggest that Arab traders married local girls. That is just not possible.
Arabs could have easily brought their wives from Arabia. Locals would have
refused to give their daughters in marriage to Arabs even before rise of Islam.
1.7.3 Khilafat
movement of 1920s
Turkish Sultan who became a Khalifa since 1517. He controlled Arab countries like Arabia / Iraq / Jordan, and huge areas of North Africa.
Arabs resented the Turkish rule. He was both spiritual and political leader.
During World War I, Turkey sided with Germany and was defeated. It was obvious that she was going to lose its empire. Moreover, for the peace settlement after the war, right of self determination was being sponsored by France and USA.
What happened to the right of self- determination of Arabs? They revolted against Turkish rule (remember Lawrence of Arabia?)
Did not Gandhi and Nehru look like fools in the eyes of Arabs?
Moreover, was there a demand from the Muslims of North Africa and Arabs to keep the rule of Khilafa - an alien ruler? If not, why should Indian Muslims feel so strongly about it? This question was never asked.
1.8 China warns India against ‘providing a
platform’ for Dalai Lama
On 28 November 2011 we received the following news.
China on Monday said it was opposed to any country that "provide[d] a platform" for the Dalai Lama and his "anti-China activities", in the wake of India and China last week postponing the 15th round of border talks following Chinese concerns over a Buddhist conference that was scheduled to take place at the same time in New Delhi. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said the Dalai Lama, who will speak at the conference, was "not a purely religious figure".
India and China postponed the boundary talks, which were to take place in New Delhi on November 28 and November 29, after New Delhi said it would not accede to Chinese demands to either push back or cancel this week's Buddhist conference.
"I want to point out that the Dalai Lama is not a purely religious figure but the one who has been engaged in separatist activities for a long time, under the pretext of religion," Mr. Hong said. "We oppose any country that provides a platform for his anti-China activities in any form."
>>
We can understand China's attitude. BUT did India ever warn other countries in
a similar way? How can India do that when there is picture of Gandhi on every
single Rupee Note!
1.9 To whom should we tell about our work?
In January 2012 the organization called Hindu Existence sent us an E Mail -
Thousands of Muslims and Christians returned to Hindu Home through Mega Shuddhi Event by Agniveer.
Shahjahanpur, UP
- 2nd January 2012: It has been confirmed now that thousands of Muslims
and Christian brothers have returned to their roots in Hindu faith through
Suddhi Yajna in the fag end of the year 2011. The entire programmes of Shuddhi
were held by the initiation of AGNIVEER & Associates with full cooperation
of Arya Samaj.
Update on 24 Dec
2011: In yet another Agniveer sponsored program, 102 truth-seekers formally
embraced the Vedic Dharma/Hinduism of their ancestors. We welcome the reunion
with our long-lost family members who till recently used to call themselves as
allied to Mohammedans or Christians alone. Agniveer thanks all
organizations and individuals who made this homecoming possible. More details
very soon.
Update on 25 Dec
2011: In yet another formal ceremony, 857 Christian brothers & sisters
resolved to return back to their Vedic/ Hindu roots on the opportune day
of Christmas. Agniveer heartily welcomes them back to the family where they
would admire the real Krishna instead of Christ fiction. Another 50 erstwhile
Mohammedans also embraced the Vedic/Hindu religion of their ancestors in the
same ceremony.
Unique programmes for Shuddhi Yajna are fixed through out this year of 2012. Interested Muslims and Christian brothers may contact: agniveer@gmail.com or upananda.br@sify.com .
On
3 rd January 2012 Godbole commented - This is a good news, but it should have
been circulated to only a select few. Why tell the editors of British Newspapers?
They will twist it. (The E Mail was sent to BBC / President of India/ Islamic
Jihadi – Tamil Nadu and others)
1.10 History’s missing pages: Iranian academic sliced out sections of
priceless collection
British
Library to sue after 150 books are vandalised. Wealthy scholar pleads guilty
and may face prison.
On 23
November 2008, while in London for his research, Dr Bedekar sent us the
following shocking E Mail. The Guardian, Friday 21 November 2008 –
Sandra Laville, crime correspondent
Farhad Hakimzadeh removed a map by Hans Holbein the Younger from Simon Grynaeus’s 16th century work Novus Orbis. To the untrained eye the damage is barely visible. Yet within the hand bound pages of books charting how Europeans travelled to Mesopotamia, Persia and the Mogul empire from the 16th century onwards, the damage caused by one Iranian academic to a priceless British Library collection is irreversible. Leading scholars at the library are at a loss to explain why Farhad Hakimzadeh, a Harvard-educated businessman, publisher and intellectual, took a scalpel to the leaves of 150 books that have been in the nation's collection for centuries. The monetary damage he caused over seven years is in the region of £400,000 but Dr Kristian Jensen, head of the British and early printed collections at the library, said no price could be placed upon the books and maps that he had defaced and stolen.
"These are historic objects which have been damaged forever," said Jensen. "You cannot undo what he has done and it has compromised a piece of historical evidence which charts the early engagement of Europeans with what we now know as the Middle East and China. It makes me extremely angry. This is someone who is extremely rich who has damaged and destroyed something that belongs to everybody."
Hakimzadeh, 60, faces a jail sentence today when he appears at Wood Green Magistrates court in London. The Iranian-born academic fled his country after the fall of the Shah and holds a US passport. He has pleaded guilty to 14 specimen charges of stealing maps, pages and illustrations from 10 books at the British Library and four from the Bodleian Library in Oxford dating back to 1998.
When police searched his home in Knightsbridge, west London, last July they discovered some of the missing maps, pages and pictures inserted into less valuable editions of the same books he owned.
Academics at the library were forced to turn detective in June 2006 after a reader who had taken out a copy of Sir Thomas Herbert's book A Relation of Some Yeares Travaille, Begunne Anno 1626 suggested some of its pages had been removed. Careful examination by experts at the library proved him to be correct and the staff mounted a delicate operation to find out who had been damaging the book and whether other items had suffered the same fate.
Using electronic records, they found all the British Library members who had taken out the book and then examined other works these people had had contact with. They discovered that other works detailing the same periods in history and covering European engagement to the area from modern-day Syria to Bangladesh were also damaged. Pages had been sliced away close to the spine of the books and maps, one of them worth £32,000, had been removed from chapters, leaving barely noticeable indentations in the paper marking where they had been.
"It was only the books taken out by Hakimzadeh which showed a consistent pattern of damage," said Jensen.
They discovered that Hakimzadeh had taken out 842 books and of these at least 150 had been mutilated. Some of the stolen pages were discovered but many have been lost forever. The library wrote to Hakimzadeh, who at the time was chief executive of the Iran Heritage Foundation, a charity he formed in 1995 to promote and preserve the history, languages and culture of Iran. He replied saying he had no idea that there was any damage to the books. It was at this point that the library went to the police with the details of the investigation.
Forensic scientists analysed the damaged books and police officers called at Hakimzadeh's Knightsbridge home, where he lived with his wife.
"Some pages were found loose and others had been inserted into books in his own collection," said Jensen, who accompanied the officers. "Hakimzadeh is eminently characteristic of our traditional groups of readers: he has a profound knowledge of the field. From my point of view, that makes it worse because he actually knew the importance of what he was damaging. What he did was use the cover of serious scholarly purpose to steal historic pieces and abuse our trust."
The library has launched a civil action to sue Hakimzadeh for full compensation.
Defaced books - The rare books that were defaced by Hakimzadeh include:
Historia de la China From the writings of Father Matteo Ricci, an Italian Jesuit who travelled to China in 1582 and became the first western traveller to settle there. First published in Latin in 1615. This copy was printed in Spain in 1621. Ricci learned to speak and write Chinese and his work was the first important and reliable European description of the country.
Novus Orbis An anthology of works by Simon Grynaeus, professor of Greek at Basle. Hakimzadeh removed an engraving of a world map drawn by Hans Holbein the Younger, court painter to Henry VIII.
Mithridates by the English dramatist Nathaniel Lee. Published in 1693.
Ost-indian-und Persianische Reisen by Johann Gottlieb Worm, the German philosopher who accompanied an envoy of the Dutch East India Company sent to the Safavid court in Persia in 1717. He travelled to Isfahan from India via Bandar Abbas. Published in 1745.
Our
comment – when such damage can happen TODAY one can only imagine how much of
our history was lost due to sheer vandalism by invaders.
It is
strange that Godbole did read - Sir
Thomas Herbert's book A Relation of Some Yeares Travaille, Begunne Anno 1626

1.12 Centre encouraging officers to revolt against BJP governments
On 14 May 2011 Ashok Chowgule sent us the following E Mail
Congress using IAS, IPS to target us: CMs
Author: Shekhar Iyer/New Delhi shekhar.iyer@hindustantimes.com

The UPA government is using not just state governors but also a section of IAS and IPS officers to destabilise us, complained BJP chief ministers at their conclave on Friday. Led by Narendra Modi of Gujarat, the BJP CMs, who included those of Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh, said they saw a pattern in New Delhi's act of "encouraging" some officers to revolt against them by promising them "protection and rewards."
Governors thwarted BJP governments' efforts by refusing assent to key bills, they said. Though it wasn't clear whether specific names came up for discussion, BJP leaders did have in mind some cases --mostly from Gujarat. Asked whether it was Modi who had complained the most, BJP spokesperson JP Nadda said it wasn't just Modi's view but even other CMs were sensing pressure on some bureaucrats to work against them.
Sources, however, say a few instances were discussed. These
included the case of Dr KN Sharma, an IPS officer who had criminal cases
against him in Gujarat. But he was chosen by Delhi as additional DG, BPR&D
under the home ministry without permission from the state.
BJP leaders were told Sanjiv Bhatt, another Gujarat IPS officer, was backed
home minister P Chidambaram after he filed an affidavit in the SC against Modi,
accusing him of ordering police not to act against Hindu mobs during the 2002
riots. Chidambaram hailed Bhatt's act as a `positive development'. "Would
he have made a similar statement, had the matter been pertaining to a UPA
CM?" Arun Jaitley, Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha, is said to have asked
in the meet.
Chidambaram appeared in the SC as an advocate for Bhatt who, as the ASP, Jamjodhpur, had faced charges in the case of alleged custodial death.
Bhatt also faced charges in a case of the police administering electric shocks to an accused and obtained a stay from HC against a warrant in this connection.
An ex-IPS officer RB Sreekumar, who come out against the Gujarat government, was to be rewarded with the post in the Central Information Commission. (There is a criminal case against him.)

Indo-Pak Relations: Congress continues to kneel
On 13 February 2012 Sandhya Jain sent us the following E Mail through media_monitor5
Pakistan observes February 5 every year as the “Kashmir
Solidarity Day” and reiterates its stand that “Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed
territory” and that the Indian presence in this part of the state is “illegal
and against the people’s will”. Pakistan has been observing this day as
“Kashmir Solidarity Day” since 1990 to highlight the “Kashmir issue”. As
expected, many rallies were held across Pakistan, including Islamabad and
Lahore, on this day to mark “Kashmir Solidarity Day”, which is a public
holiday.
The otherwise besieged Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza
Gilani used this day to explain the contours of Pakistan’s foreign policy
vis-à-vis Indian Jammu and Kashmir. Admitting that Islamabad “cannot afford
wars” in the 21st century, Gilani said the “Kashmir issue would have to be
resolved through dialogue and diplomacy”. Four wars have already been fought on
the Kashmir issue and the region still ‘is a flashpoint’, but in the 21st
century we cannot afford wars”, he said, adding, “We want to resolve issues
through dialogue, diplomacy, prudent policy and national consensus”. He made
these observations at a convention at the Prime Minister's Secretariat to mark
“Kashmir Solidarity Day” in Islamabad.
Gilani thus unambiguously sent a message to India that
Islamabad would accept only that solution that vindicates its age-old stand on
Jammu and Kashmir. He put the onus on New Delhi and urged it to take the
required diplomatic initiatives at the earliest to resolve the issue and forge
lasting peace in South Asia. His statement that Pakistan is a nuclear state was
a direct threat to India. Similarly, his statement that his Kashmir policy is
perfectly “in line with the vision of the party's founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto”
vindicated those in India who believe that Pakistan’s foreign policy towards
India is based on the premise that Jammu and Kashmir is an “unfinished agenda
of partition”.
But what was New Delhi’s response to Yousuf Raza Gilani and
what happened across Pakistan on the so-called “Kashmir Solidarity Day”? Did
New Delhi take cognizance of the anti-India propaganda and the direct
implications of what Gilani said about Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s Kashmir vision and
his statement that “Kashmir issue remains the cornerstone of the country's
foreign policy”? No, Delhi took no cognizance whatever. It overlooked all
that Islamabad and radical Islamists did and, according to agencies, made a
unilateral statement that it would ease visa regulation for Pakistan nationals!
This was just two days after the radical Islamists spewed venom on India and
threatened New Delhi of dire consequences.
The proposed new visa regime, when operational, would
ensure that Pakistan nationals on a “visiting visa have wider access to the
country; the new norms will allow Pakistan nationals access to five Indian
cities as opposed to three cities earlier”. The new visa regulations would,
unlike in the past when Pakistan nationals were not allowed to enter and exit
India from different cities, ensure that Pakistan nationals can “enter and exit
from different cities” in the country. Pakistani business establishments with a
“turnover of half a million dollar or more” will benefit from the new visa
norms. Earlier, India had unilaterally eased business visa rules for Pakistani
businessmen. The proposed visa regulations and norms are also expected to help
“students, senior citizens, businessmen, tourists and group tourists”. The new
visa regime, however, does not amend any restrictions for religious tourists.
New Delhi went in for another unilateral concession to
Pakistan, notwithstanding no forward movement by Islamabad on the issue of
Hafiz Saeed, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, and more importantly, the Mumbai 26/11
attack. India till date has not heard from
the judicial panel from Pakistan which is probing the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist
attacks and Ajmal Kasab’s role in the episode, that was expected to come here
earlier this month. A Pakistan official had earlier this year said that the
probe panel will visit India on February 3.
This is not the first time that the present Congress-led
UPA Government has acted in a manner that has promoted the Pakistani interests
at the cost of Indian self-respect. It has been happening at regular intervals
under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. It happened at Havana (Cuba) when
Manmohan Singh shocked the nation by telling the then Pakistan President
General Pervez Musharraf that “Pakistan, like India, is also a victim of
terrorism”. It happened at Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt) when Manmohan Singh went
several steps further and signed a highly controversial, nay outrageous anti-India
joint statement with his Pakistani counterpart Gilani. The Sharm-el-Sheikh
joint statement not only provided for the resumption of the stalled composite
dialogue process between New Delhi and Islamabad, but also de-linked
Pakistani-sponsored terrorism from the dialogue process aimed at resolving the
Kashmir issue. Not satisfied with this, Manmohan Singh allowed his Pakistani
counterpart to include a reference to alleged Indian involvement in subversive
activities in Baluchistan.
What Manmohan Singh and his foreign office did at
Islamabad, Thimpu (Bhutan) and Maldives is well known. They did all they
could to appease and please Pakistan and brought shame to India by allowing
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to equate Indian Home Secretary
G.K. Pillai with Hafiz Saeed. Remember that Qureshi had in Multan, his home
town, said “we did not kneel; India knelt under international pressure
and resumed the stalled composite dialogue process with Islamabad”. Remember,
Islamabad not only abused, insulted and taunted India in Thimpu, Islamabad and
Multan, but its Foreign Secretary took on India while in India after holding
discussions with his Indian counterpart, Nirupama Rao, present envoy to the
United States.
One can cite innumerable instances to prove that the
Congress-led UPA at the centre has been pursing a policy that has all the
potential of enabling Pakistan to accomplish what it had hitherto failed to
achieve. Pakistan is slowly but surely pushing forward its anti-India agenda
with the help of New Delhi, which is also at war with Indian civilisation itself. The main problem of the nation is that the
Opposition is watching as a mute spectator when the government is promoting the
Pakistani cause in Kashmir. Concerned Indians feel that the Congress and the
Opposition are on the same page as far as their policy towards Pakistan and
Kashmiri separatists is concerned. This must surely shake and alarm the nation
and spur all good men to come to the aid of the nation, and fast.

1.14 US forces had orders to target Indian Army in
1971
On 6 November 2011 our friend Gopal Ashtekar of Pune S Kumar sent us the following E Mail.
Author: Josy Joseph / Publication: The Times of India / Date: November 6, 2011.
NEW
DELHI: A set of freshly declassified top secret papers on the 1971 war show
that US hostility towards India during the war with Pakistan
was far more intense than known until now. The documents reveal that Indira Gandhi
went ahead with her plan to liberate Bangladesh
despite inputs that the Nixon
Administration had kept three battalions of Marines on standby to
deter India, and that the American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise
had orders to target Indian Army
facilities.
The bold leadership that the former PM showed during the 1971 war is well
known. But the declassified documents further burnish the portrait of her
courageous defiance. The documents show how Americans held back communication
regarding Pakistan's desire to surrender in Dhaka by almost a day. That the
American establishment had mobilized their 7th Fleet
to the Bay of Bengal, ostensibly to evacuate US nationals, is public knowledge.
But the declassified papers show Washington had planned to use the 7th Fleet to
attack the Indian Army.
They also show that Nixon administration kept arming Pakistan despite having
imposed an embargo on providing both Islamabad
and New Delhi military hardware and support.
They suggest that India, exasperated by continuing flow of
American arms and ammunition, had considered intercepting three Pakistani
vessels carrying war stores months before the war. The plan was dropped against
the backdrop of the Indian foreign ministry's assessment that the interception
could trigger hostilities.
The pro-Pak bias of the then US President Richard Nixon
and his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger
is vividly brought out by their decision to keep three battalions of Marines on
standby: a decision which has so far not found mention in any record of the
1971 war.
Documents blame Richard Nixon for Pakistan tilt
A six-page note prepared by India's foreign ministry holds then American president Richard Nixon responsible for the pro-Pakistan tilt during India's 1971 war with her neighbour.
"The assessment of our embassy reveal (sic) that the
decision to brand India as an 'aggressor' and to send the 7th Fleet to the Bay of Bengal
was taken personally by Nixon," says the note. The note further says, the
Indian embassy: "feel (sic) that the bomber force aboard the Enterprise
had the US President's authority to undertake bombing of Indian Army's
communications, if necessary."
As early as June 1971, New Delhi weighed the possibility of intercepting three
Pakistani ships loaded with US weapons. This leaves only two other courses
regarding interception: That India may intercept the ships before they reach Karachi, or impose a blockade of the Bay of Bengal.
Either of these might involve the use of force and would be treated as acts of
war, wrote the director (legal and treaties) of MEA.
On December 14, Gen A A K Niazi,
Pakistan's military commander for erstwhile East Pakistan, told the American
consul-general in Dhaka that he was willing to surrender. The message was
relayed to Washington, but it took the US 19 hours to relay it to New Delhi.
Files suggest senior Indian diplomats suspected the delay was because
Washington was possibly contemplating military action against India.

should feel sorry of Hindus that were killed, but not for others. Carter /Reagan

policy of Government of India policy to release secret papers after a certain
period (say 40 years)?

3. BEHAVIOUR OF CHRISTIANS
AND MUSLIMS TODAY
3.1 The Christians

The petition filed by Catholic Bishop’s Council against
introduction of ‘Geeta Sar’ or Essence of Bhagavad Geeta in school curriculum,
has been dismissed by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday. The petition was
filed in August 2011. The petition was filed by the Council spokesman Fr Anand
Muttungal.
The court upheld the fact that Bhagavad Geeta contained
no religious teachings, but contained only the philosophy of life. Earlier, the
court had given the petitioner’s counsel a time limit of 2 months to study the
holy text in entirety and then come to any decision. According to
Additional Advocate General Prashant Singh, the Division Bench comprising of
Justice Ajit Singh and Justice Sanjay Yadav asked the petitioner a few
questions. Not satisfied with the answers given, the court declared that the
Bhagavad Geeta was Indian Philosophy and not a religious text. The petition was
dismissed thereafter.
Without directly opposing the teaching of Bhagavad Geeta,
the petition said that the state government of Madhya Pradesh should include
teaching of an outline of all religions, without focusing on one particular
religion alone. The petitioner stated that the council was to take a
resolution on challenging the court order after they read the complete order.
Another matter cited in the PIL were the names used by
the state government of Madhya Pradesh for their various schemes. According to
the petitioner, names like Ladli Laxmi, Balram Tal, Kapil Dhara etc and
practices like ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ at government functions promoted a single
religion. The names, which were drawn from Hindu mythology, did not convey a
secular image.

advantage of any foolishness on the part of Hindu people. But why are Hindu

3.2.1 (So
called) Honour killing
Women are
being murdered in Muslim societies all over the world in the name of Islam
and most mass media keeps quiet about it.
January 29 2012 - Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper reported
Shafias all found guilty of first-degree murder. Three Afghan-Canadians charged with murdering four relatives in a so-called "honour killing" have been convicted on all charges. The verdict was reached shortly after 1 pm Sunday afternoon and delivered about an hour later to a packed courtroom.
The
defendants face an automatic penalty of life imprisonment with no chance of
parole for at least 25 years.
Charged
with four counts of first-degree murder were businessman Mohammad Shafia, 59,
his second wife Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 42, and their eldest son, Hamed, 21. They
stood accused of drowning sisters Zainab, Sahar and Geeti Shafia, aged 19, 17
and 13, whose bodies were found in a submerged car at a Rideau Canal lock, just
east of Kingston (Ontario), in June, 2009. (fourth member killed was Rona
Amir aged 53 first wife of Mohammad
Shafia )
All
three defendants briefly addressed the court and proclaimed their innocence “We
are not criminals, we are not murderers, we didn't commit the murders and this
is unjust,” Mr. Mohammad said through a translator. (So, even after living in Canada since 1992, he cannot
speak English)
But
the judge was unmoved. “You have each been convicted of the planned and
deliberate murder of four members of your family. (A verdict) clearly supported
by the evidence presented at this trial,” said Judge Maranger. “It is difficult
to conceive of a more despicable, more heinous crime...the apparent reason
behind these cold-blooded, shameful murders was that the four completely
innocent victims offended your completely twisted concept of honour ... that
has absolutely no place in any civilized society.”...(The only crime for
their 3 daughters was dating Canadian men and even one Pakistani youth?
Perhaps, for Afghani father he was of kafir caste. )
Qur'an 4:34 allows for physical violence (yes, it says to hit) against "disobedient women."
Islamic law is inconsistent at best on whether parents who kill their children face any
consequences at all. It is no surprise, then, that Muslims commit 91 percent of "honor killings" worldwide.
Mohammad Shafia has previously said: "I would do it again 100 times" Shafia said on a wiretap, "God's curse on them for generations. May the devil shit on their graves. Is that what a daughter should be? Would a daughter be such a whore?" They betrayed Islam...."...
M Shafia, 59, was wealthy and had essentially bought his residency in Canada under the federal investor-immigrant program. He owned a $1.6-million mall in Laval, Quebec, and was having a big, custom-designed home built in Brossard, a Montreal suburb. He had cars, property, assorted business projects, and had travelled widely. He and his family fled the advancing Taliban in 1992 .
Pushpa Rajguru wrote from America -
None of the faces show ANY signs of the faintest remorse!
Should these vile vermin end up in jail, they will stay busy preaching to the
other inmates the "virtues" of Islam & Allah, the compassionate
& the merciful.
Unfortunately such brutal killings are a way of life in most Islamic communities Majority of such cases are not reported in the media.
Our
comments – Thank God the Canadians do not have the madness of human rights for
such criminals as we have in Europe!

More Asian sex predators held in Britain
Author: Indo-Asian News Service / Publication: NDTV / January 12, 2011: http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/more-asian-sex-predators-held-in-britain-78907
In a massive crackdown launched across Britain amid reports about Pakistani-origin men preying on white girls, police have busted another gang of nine men, including eight Asians, for forcing a dozen teenaged girls to become sex slaves. The police have arrested the men aged between 20-40 after 14 underage white girls claimed to have been targeted for sex. The girls said they had been plied with drink and drugs then taken to flats and houses for sex.
The victims - some of them as young as 13 - say they were forced to work as prostitutes and hand over money to the men, the Daily Mail reported. The latest arrests in Rochdale, Greater Manchester took place shortly before Christmas and are the result of a major inquiry into the sexual exploitation of teenage girls since 2008. They come just days after a nationwide investigation was launched following a string of cases involving men of Pakistani heritage grooming mainly white girls. Last week Abid Saddique, 27, and Mohammed Liaqat, 28, were jailed for 19 years for targeting underage girls. The two sexual predators - both British-born fathers of Pakistani origin who had arranged marriages in that country - cruised the streets of Derby in either a Range Rover or a BMW looking for vulnerable young girls to prey on. The girls were "chatted up" by the men at the roadside and invited to go for drives in the car - one of which was dubbed the "Rape Rover" - where they were plied with vodka or cocaine before being taken to hotel rooms, parks or houses to be sexually abused.
The case prompted controversy after former Home Secretary Jack Straw described some of the white girl victims as "easy meat" for gangs who trawl the streets looking for sex. Research shows there have been 17 sex gang prosecutions since 1997 - 14 in the last three years - involving girls aged 11-16. Meanwhile, retired police chief Mick Gradwell claimed that the pressure not to appear "institutionally racist" led to a culture of silence over Asian sex gangs. Gradwell, a former detective superintendent in Lancashire, said: "You have girls being abused and raped and yet the most senior officers are refusing to comment on it. On what other subject would you get that?
"I worked on operations which had been set up to tackle, amongst other things, an element of Asian men who saw white girls as easy meat, as Jack Straw rightly put it. It was a persistent issue." He said: "Some white girls are attracted to groups of Asian men because some are quite wealthy, shower them with gifts and drive round in fancy cars."
"The main pressure police have is being called institutionally racist if they highlight a crime trend like this. There's a fantastic reluctance to be absolutely straight because some people may take such offence. "Rather than concentrating to solve and prevent it the bigger issue becomes 'Can we point out a crime trend in an ethnic minority?'"
Our comment - Note the British attitude towards Hindus.
When Pakistanis are the criminals they call them Asians casting doubts on
Hindus as well. But Hindu
organisations never protest. Our temples never take interest in such
matters. However, they are interested in celebrating Christian New Year.

Transcendental meditation lowers cholesterol (Http:// www.hinduism.co.za)
By Larry Dossey, M.D.
"In 1980, subjects with elevated blood cholesterol levels were taught the technique of transcendental meditation. Serial determinations of the blood cholesterol level were made. It was found that in subjects who practiced this technique the cholesterol level fell on the average of 20 percent. While this fall may seem modest, it should be noted that there are no drugs that are consistently more effective, safe, and inexpensive as this method of voluntary relaxation and mental quieting. Moreover, blood pressure, heart and respiratory rate, as well as the blood levels of insulin, hydrocortisone, adrenaline, and nor epinephrine are modified to more desirable levels."
- Cooper and Aygen "The effect of Meditation."
The significance of these observations is inestimable: by taking thought in ways which 'elongate' the time sense, time-sick individuals can alter many of the devastating effects of the time syndrome.
Hurry sickness
Our sense of time affects our health by influencing the development and course of specific diseases. This is nowhere more obvious than in persons who have been called Type A individuals by Friedman and Rosenman. Type A persons have "hurry sickness." Their lives are oriented around goals, deadlines, and objectives, which they seem to react to in a driven fashion. They are unable to approach a task in a healthy, balanced way, but in extreme cases seem almost consumed by a need to accomplish and achieve.
Not only do they have an inward sense of urgency, their outward behaviour suggests the same quality. When sitting they may be in constant motion, not only with thoughts, but with body parts- hands, fingers, legs, feet. They are usually vocal, verbally expressing the products of a mind that cannot rest. This behaviour frequently generates discomfort and tension in those around them.
It is as if Type A persons are "time sick." Type A persons are usually ambitious and frequently are highly successful, having succeeded in harnessing their high motivation and sense of purpose. Yet for all the qualities for which they are admired- their vision, energy, and dedication- they possess, as a group, a characteristic that nobody envies: they have a high mortality rate from heart disease. Type A individuals as a group, die earlier. Their behaviour puts them at risk for the most frequent cause of death in our society, coronary artery disease.
